Mom’s Famous Popcorn Cake

Mom made this for every holiday (she’d switch up the M&M colors – orange & black for Halloween… red, white & pink for Valentine’s Day… red & green for Christmas… class parties were always school colors… you get the idea! It’s always a big hit!

  • 4 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 pound M&M (pick your favorite colors!)
  • 1 cup peanuts (or any favorite nuts, even mixed nuts are great!)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 pound marshmallows

Mix popcorn, M&Ms, and peanuts in large bowl

Heat oil, butter, and marshmallows in pan until melted (best if melted in double boiler). Pour over popcorn and blend together with heavy spoon or hands.

Spray Bundt cake pan with vegetable spray or grease with butter. Press mixture lightly into pan and refrigerate until cool.

To remove cake from pan, put pan in warm water, then turn upside down until cake comes out.
